FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- February 4, 2014 - MyNicKnaxs, LLC., located in Florida is announcing a recall of: Magic Slim, Fruta Bio, SlimEasy, Super Fat Burning Bomb, Slim Xtreme, Meizi Evolution, Meizitang Strong Version Botanical Slimming, Jianfeijindan Activity Girl, and Japan Hokkaido Cangye Phamacy Co., LTD Japanese Chinese Formula pill for weight reduction because these products contain undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients: Phenolphthalein, sibutramine or a combination of both. At this time no illnesses or injuries have been reported to MyKnicKnaxs, LLC., in connection with these products.
Phenolphthalein was once an ingredient used in over-the-counter laxatives, but because of concerns of carcinogenicity is not currently approved for marketing in the United States. Sibutramine is an appetite suppressant (drug Schedule IV) that was withdrawn from the U.S. market in October 2010 for safety reason (seizure, cardiovascular risks: heart attacks, arrhythmia and strokes among others). These undeclared ingredients makes these products unapproved new drugs for which safety and efficacy have not been established. Consumption of this product could include potentially serious gastrointestinal disturbances, irregular heartbeat, and cancer with long-term use.
All lots of these products are being recalled.
MyKnicKnaxs, LLC. has taken this voluntary action because it is committed to providing accurate information to all customers and is concerned for the health and safety of all users . MyKnicKnaxs, LLC, is working with the FDA in the recall process. We sincerely regret any inconvenience the recall may cause customers.

Tomatoes Recalled in Florida Due to Salmonella Risk

Big Red Tomato Packers, LLC Voluntarily Recalls Fresh Tomatoes Due to Possible Risk of Contamination from Salmonella

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - February 7, 2014 - Big Red Tomato Packers, LLC of Fort Pierce, FL is voluntarily issuing a limited recall of 790 - 20 and 25 lb. boxes of fresh tomatoes of lot 1106, because they may have the potential to be contaminated with SalmonellaSalmonella is an organism which can cause serious infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain.
This is a voluntary precautionary recall as there are no known illnesses associated with this lot number.
Tomatoes from the lot were distributed to a limited number of receivers in Florida, North Carolina, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. All receivers of the lot have been notified.
The potential for contamination was discovered as the result of a routine random lot sample taken on January 28, 2014. All currently existing product associated with this lot number is subject to this recall.
Big Red Tomato Packers is and will remain committed to being a quality producer of Florida tomatoes. Big Red is currently reviewing all policies and procedures associated with food safety to minimize any future occurrence.
Any product remaining in the market channels should be disposed of immediately.

WARNING: Uncle Ben's Infused Rice - All Lot Numbers Recalled in Texas

  • Out of an abundance of caution, the FDA is warning food service companies and consumers not to use any Uncle Ben’s Infused Rice products sold in 5- and 25-pound bags.
  • These products are sold to food service companies that typically distribute to restaurants, schools, hospitals and other commercial establishments. However, the products may be available over the Internet and at warehouse-type retailers. 
  • Food service companies and consumers who have purchased the products should not use the rice, and should return it to their point of purchase or dispose of it.     
  • Uncle Ben’s Brand Ready to Heat, Boxed, Bag or Cup products sold at grocery stores and other retail outlets are not being recalled.
What is the Problem and What is Being Done about the Problem?
The FDA, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and state and local officials have been investigating a cluster of illnesses associated with Uncle Ben’s Infused Rice Mexican Flavor sold in 5- and 25-pound bags. 

On Feb. 7, 2014, the FDA’s Coordinated Outbreak Response and Evaluation Network (CORE) was notified of a cluster of illnesses at three public schools in Katy, Texas. Thirty-four students and four teachers experienced burning, itching rashes, headaches and nausea for 30 to 90 minutes, before the symptoms went away. Uncle Ben’s Infused Rice Mexican Flavor with the lot number 351EKGRV01, made by Mars Foodservices of Greenville, Miss., was the common food item eaten by ill students.
On Dec. 4, 2013, the Illinois Department of Public Health notified CDC of 25 children with similar skin reactions following a school lunch that served an Uncle Ben’s Infused Rice product. North Dakota reported a similar incident that occurred on Oct. 30, 2013. Three children in a daycare and one college student experienced flushing reactions 45 minutes after consuming an Uncle Ben’s Infused Rice product.
Mars Foodservices is recalling all bags and all lot numbers of its Uncle Ben’s Infused Rice products produced in 2013:

Although this product is not typically marketed to individual consumers, it may be available over the Internet and at warehouse-type retailers.

Investigation into this outbreak continues. 
What are the Symptoms of Illness/Injury? 
The symptoms associated with this illness include a red burning/itching rash, headache, nausea, and flushness of the skin.
The symptoms appear very shortly after consuming the rice product and pass within 30 to 90 minutes.
What Specific Products are being Recalled? 
Mars Foodservices is recalling all bags and all lot numbers of its Uncle Ben’s Infused Rice products produced in 2013:
